As time allows Students will be introduced to the first plays which reinforce basic concepts.        X

  1 Druinne de Salesberie Fabliaux Fabliaux is a genre of literature popular in the 14th and 15th centuries.  We will have a short review of the genre and then read one together in class to illustrate the points ocevered in the introduction.      18+

Lecture:  Ever gone to court and wondered who all of those people are up behind the thrones?  Ever wondered why some awards get one vivat, while others get two or more?  Ever wondered what that award was even for? Well, if so, then this class is for you!  We will cover who is back there, why some of them get to come and go and others do not, basic court etiquette, and review most of the awards in our kingdom.

  1 Maggie MacPherson Bardic Etiquestte Etiquette for bards is a necessary part of honoring for those around you, but also for adding to their enjoyment of the Dream.  Performing with respect to those who want to hear, those who also want to perform, and those who don't want to hear is vital.  Ideas and suggestions are discussed so that all may find ways to enjoy music and bard craft without offense.  Suggestions for performance and preparation are also available upon request.

From the benefits of shopping early (and often) to prep to rolling it out on to the table.  We'll also discuss menus and ingredients-- especially show stoppers(good and bad)

1   HE Ian dun Gillan Paper bag Armor Hands On:  Paperbag Armor is a craft project with a purpose.  While constructing some basic armor out of a paper sack, I will try to tach the students about the various styles and pieces of armor as well as some of their function   10 to 12 Under 10-12       X  
  2 HE Kelandra Carmicheal Layered Painting on Wood Hands On:  Students will have a short discussion on painting technique during the Renaissance on wood panels.  Students will get to practice their own painting using preset templates and designs.  Students will learn about the order that was used in painting, some different sources of paint and how it should be applied.   10 18+ X        
  2 Lord Ivo Blackhawk Field and Site Heraldry For Beginers Lecture: Come and learn two of the most marketable skills in the SCA!  Newcomers and long time players both welcomed! Come one, come all and learn how to let your voice be heard by the masses.  We will cover the basic building blocks of both site Heraldry, and Listfield heraldry. No experience is required, and all students will be taught the basic skills needed to effectively herald traditional SCA Listfields and event sights.   None under 16 without instructors specific permission 16+          
  1 Lord Ivo Blackhawk Bardic 101 A basic introduction to SCA bardic.  This class will cover types of performances, as well as the traditions, rules and etiquite of Bardic Circles, and formats for Competition venues in the Bardic arts.  All are welcomed to come.  All attendies will hopefully be taught sufficent material to allow them to make educated decisions about how they wish to proceed in the SCA bardic arts.   None under 16 without instructors specific permission 16+          
  1 Lord Ivo Blackhawk Bardic Round Table All members of the performing arts community, as well as any and all other interested parties are welcome to come and speak as equals as we discuss the general state of Bardic in the North of Ansteorra. The moderated roundtable discussion will discuss the possibility of setting up off-calendar practices, as well as discussing any additional issues that the attendees feel deserve attention.

During this class, participants may get hands on experience, as well as participating in an open question and answer session. Class will also include servings and nock points, both period and modern."If students would like to make a full-length Flemish bowstring, they need to
bring either a longbow or a recurve bow.  Students who do not bring bows will
make miniature Flemish strings."

  1 Lilliana Byrnes Preparing for Bardic Competitions Lecture and discussion for all ages involving preparations that should be taking before any bardic competition or performance. This includes, but is not limited to, working on vocal support, piece selection,styles of competition, stage presence, and courtesies.                
  1 Caer Byrnes Basic Kumihimo A very basic introduction to the art of Kumihimo braiding. This class will focus on using the round card stock to weave rope/ cord in this particular Japanese style.     6 and older
