The meeting started out with a discussion about Guardian -- there were 8 Comets given.
Xenos - We will have archery practice, but there are some details to work out.
Diarmaid - Due to the current mundane circumstances, all non-officer phone numbers are going to be removed froim the web site. We need to change part of the Investiture links. There was a discussion on what we can put on the web page and what we can't
Susan the Curious - We had a hundred visitors sign in at Dionadair, and more who didn't. 5 or 6 have contacted. People need to contact her with "things you wished people would have told you when you joined". Then there was a long discussion about the lack of restrictions on teenagers and children at Demos and Fighter practices. Parents need to be present or the SCA is nor responsible for them, no matter if they are dressed in garb or not. They are not participants, they are observers in a public park (or whatever). Susan needs to not only note how many people attended demos, she needs to get their names under the new rules. Demos only need on authorized Marshall to have fighting. Ever group handles the job of Hospitaller differently.
Robert - Polling will be about 1.00 on Sunday. It can't be much earlier, or we will have trouble getting people back from Weisenfeuer. If we have to we will drive HM home (Susanna says it's only 3 hours to Carollton). Officers have gotten to wear garb only at Populace -- we need to start wearing Garb at all meetings.
Alton - We need 4 sets of loaner gear in various sizes. Tristian will make armor for $760, pay as delivered (Mercedes needs to be invoiced).
Faolan - There was a huge Needleworkers last week (with metal working outside). She may want to do it twice a month at least until the Investituture. Myabe the 2nd and 3rd Mondays. Diarmaid will be holding shoemaking classes as long as people are willing to show up.
A sidebar between Ian and Ainar. Jean Paul and Oxleigh have produced a number of large gold and black Scutums for a shield wall -- they want to have a Norther Regional Army with Northkeep on their flank.
A sidebar on wall hangings - do we finish the ones we have or make new ones? We need to leave it up to the people in charge of hall decorations. Anton needs to ask Beorhtlic.
Mercedes - There was a Reeve's class at Guardian that she and Ian both attended. There have been some changes to the way the office is to be run that she was updated on. For examples, a Landed Baron or Baroness can NOT hold any level of Seneshcal or Reeve job. We need to buy a new Reeve's Handbook. There is some clarification about how we should be dealing with Rundel (Officially, a Canton is a separate unit, therefore the officers have no direct connection to ours).
Sidebar - Ansteorra will be making no new incipient groups. All new groups must be Cantons for at least two years.
Ainar - a newsletter can not be published electroncially. He spoke with the Baron of Vatavia about an exchange of newsletters. We need to report a liability on the subscriptions taken as early as October. We have some forms to fill out for this. We took some losses due to the size of last month's Saga, but otherwise things are just fine.
Rosumund - it's been a quiet month Heraldicly, the consulting sessions need to be sent up, and the Herald's pages need to be updated.. There are still some missing Cornerstones, and Janet says she doesn't have one. The submissions Herald is going to rty to fast track the Kenmare out of Kingdom as soon as we can resend one bit of missing information. As soon as we know who the B&B will be, we can then look at things like the Badges (we can use Kendra's arms as the badge if we want, and it will get all passed much faster).
Lucan - We need loaner gear. He wanted to know if we could move Fighter Practice to Thursday. He doesn't want to split the practices, but Wednesday is being troublesome. He just wanted to open the topic for discussion. Alton says he will bring it up the the rest of the heavy fighters.
Ian - everyone needs to go to Rundell - strongly encouraged (9-11 Nov). We also need Toys for Toy Tourney (it would be neat if we could win that at our Investiture). We want good gifts for the Crown. The next planning meeting will be the same day as Officer's (21 Nov). Winterkingdom Autocrats are Elizabetta and Janet. We need to think about Northern Regional (if no one bids for it, they will probably let the event die after this last year) [Some suggestions of letting the Cantons or Shires do it for a while]. Households can't do regional events. Perhaps we would be interested in wearing new badges on tabards (text such as the motto can be documented).
